Dear members of the Africa / Middle-East Regional Committee (AMERC),
I am pleased to welcome you to the webpage that has been created by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, as part of the preparations for the AMERC meeting to be held on 20-21 February 2024.
In this regard, I would like to thank Mr. Dhanesswurnath Thakoor, Chief Executive, Financial Services Commission (FSC), for hosting the AMERC plenary meeting and the Public Conference in Mauritius.
The FSC Mauritius and the members of AMERC have been proactively discussing topics of common regional interest and have been providing valuable support to the different workstreams that our Regional Committee is currently developing, including in the areas of Fintech, Sustainable Finance, and Market Development, among others.
Our meeting in Mauritius will provide us with an extraordinary opportunity to exchange views and experiences on topics that are impacting (or are expected to impact) the markets in our region. These common regional challenges and opportunities require an active exchange of information among our members, as well as promoting learning from each other's experiences, based on current market developments and regulatory responses taken by our 42 members.
I look forward to welcoming you in person at the AMERC meeting in Mauritius and having a fruitful dialogue with all our members. Again, I would like to thank Mr. Dhanesswurnath Thakoor and the FSC team for all the preparations made for a successful AMERC plenary meeting and Public Conference.
Sincerely yours,
Nezha Hayat
