IOSCO published a final report on 16 November on 'Global Developments in Securitisation Regulation' which proposes a series of recommendations aimed at ensuring securitisation markets on a sound and sustainable basis.
The report on securitisation builds on earlier IOSCO work aimed at supporting sustainable growth of securitisation markets and boosting investor interest following the aftermath of the financial crisis. It covers related aspects of securitisation such as risk retention, transparency, standardisation and develop certain policies which may be adopted by investors and regulators.
The final report can be downloaded on the IOSCO website.
IOSCO has worked on the premise that regulation can contribute to restore confidence and trust to address issues that surfaced through the crisis. The FSC adheres to the fact that securitisation is a valuable financing tool that contributes to economic growth and the efficient diversification of risk in the Capital Markets sector.
The FSC invites those who would like to share their views on securitisation to write to the Commission.
