Surveys

The FSC conducts quarterly and annual surveys pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 7(2) of the Financial Services Act to collect statistical information from its licensees relating to their respective business undertakings.

The surveys enable the FSC to capture up-to-date data from each industry for an in-depth analysis. This analysis aims at depicting current industry-wide market trends and to provide inputs for the National Accounts and International Surveys.

• Graduation of Mauritius to International Monetary Fund (IMF) Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS)

Mauritius has subscribed to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) on the 28th February 2012.

Established by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1996, the Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) aims to guide members who seek access to international capital markets by providing their economic and financial data to the public. The availability of timely and comprehensive statistics contributes to the formulation of sound macroeconomic policies

Mauritius is the 11th country to graduate to the SDDS from the IMF's General Data Dissemination System (GDDS), which the country has participated in since September 21, 2000. As such, Mauritius forms part of the 70 countries, the second Sub-Saharan African country, to subscribe to the SDDS.

FSC Surveys

• FSC Annual Statistical Surveys

The FSC requires its licensees to complete the Annual Statistical Survey on a calendar year basis. The aim of the Annual Statistical Survey is to collect latest data from licensees for micro and macro economic analysis. Data captured from the survey are published in the FSC Annual Statistical Bulletin.

• FSC Quarterly Statistical Surveys

The FSC conducts Quarterly Statistical Surveys for Occupational Pension Schemes and Investment Schemes. The data captured are published in the FSC Annual Statistical Bulletin.
