Insurance & Pensions
The Insurance industry in Mauritius is regulated by the Insurance Act 2005, Rules and Regulations made thereunder.

The FSC ensures that the regulatory framework governing the sector adopts the best international practices as laid down by the IAIS thus maintaining Mauritius as a recognized international financial center.

Capital Markets
The Capital Markets in Mauritius operates under the Securities Act. The Act, based on IOSCO principles, provides a sound regulatory framework and promotes protection of investors and transparency.

The FSC will host a workshop on “Facilitating the Implementation of IFSB Standards” from 04-06 June 2012.

The FSC regulates and supervises Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs) other than Insurance and Capital Markets sectors.

Section 14 of the Financial Services Act (FSA) empowers the FSC to license financial businesses or activities as listed in the Second Schedule of the FSA.
